Masonry Construction

For taller or load-bearing slopes, we build reinforced block and poured-in-place retaining walls designed for the actual soil load and height — with proper footings, gravel backfill, drainage pipe, and geogrid or steel reinforcement where required. Managing the water behind a wall is what prevents failure, so every retaining wall we build drains deliberately. We coordinate engineering and permits for walls that require them. That matters more here than it does in a wetter climate. Washington County gets much of its rain in short monsoon bursts onto ground that sheds rather than absorbs it, so a wall on a cut lot in Washington City, Ivins, or Hurricane can take a season's worth of water pressure in an afternoon.

We apply stucco systems over block and repair existing masonry — re-grouting cracked cells, tuckpointing failed mortar joints, resetting shifted units, and correcting the drainage that caused the damage. Catching a leaning or cracking wall early is far cheaper than a rebuild, so we diagnose the root cause rather than just the symptom and restore the structure to sound, code-worthy condition.
